Local files & compatibility

Open reads a saved standalone HTML instrument, DSP plugin or rack JSON on this device. The file is not uploaded. DSP Rack shares audio among compiled instruments and effects; ordinary HTML instruments keep separate audio engines.

Save portable MIDI Room keeps this player and all six built-in instruments in one HTML file. The installed room also keeps its built-ins available offline after the first complete visit.

Touch and computer keys use Web Audio. Hardware MIDI is optional and requires a browser that offers Web MIDI. If hardware MIDI is unavailable, you can still play the built-in instruments.

Imported files that need separate assets, internet access, MIDI output or SysEx are not supported here. Stop cancels active performances and notes. Use the instrument’s Play control or keys to start again.

How wires work

Notes arrive as virtual MIDI inputs. SDK-ready instruments can also share key, scale, energy and clock. Vibe Cards can share their named VibeBus signals. A connection carries events; audio is mixed by your browser.

Feedback loops are blocked. Closing an instrument removes its wires. Add Drum Pad and select a TRITON target in its Sound menu. Card focus never changes tempo.

Existing HTML instruments can receive notes through Web MIDI. Sending notes or following a shared field requires the small MidiRoom SDK. External assets, MIDI output and SysEx remain unsupported.
